DON’T ACCUSE ME OF BEING RUDE TO AUNTY FUNKE. I SERVED HER WHOLE HEARTEDLY. Olayode Juliana , Toyo baby of Jenifa’s diary responds to critics over alleged quarrel with Funke Akindele.
“Some of my fond memories with aunty Funke are the times I cooked for her. I enjoyed cooking for her. I followed someone who lived with her then to market on different occasions to buy things we used to Cook”, says Juliana in her uncensored blog post titled THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JENIFA AND TOYO BABY, published on 22nd June, 2017.
Presently, she’s not on the jenifa’s diary series and the news just broke recently with a lot of version on the internet as to why. In reality according to Toyo baby she has been off the series since May 2016. It’s been over a year now.
According to the aforementioned blog post on Juliana’s site, here’s how their relationship rolled out before things went awry.
Aunty Funke to Juliana and how they met
According to Juliana, Funke Akindele was a coach, benefactor, big sister, advicer, cheerleader, and encourager to her. Aunty Funke as she calls her met her for the first time at the auditions of jenifa’s diary. She saw her talent and believed in her. She trained her and made her become a better actress. “I honestly have not seen anyone in Nollywood more hardworking like aunty Funke… She helped pay my mum’s hospital bills for a fibroid surgery of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000). She also gave to the ministry dear to my heart, Mine Teenage ministries when we were preparing for an event and my pastor called to appreciate her”, says Juliana. One particular day I treasure was the day she came to the room I stayed and told me in a mother’s tone that I was beautiful and she warned me sternly never to bleach. I smile whenever I remember that. God bless her kind soul”, she added.
Juliana to Aunty Funke
“I was privileged to be the one holding Aunty Funke’s bag while on set. I kept the money we spent on day to day running and was required to balance account afterwards. I don’t like mathematics, so that was a lot of work…lol” , Juliana narrated. According to the aforementioned blog post, she was an Unofficial personal assistant, make-up artist, cook, caterer, costumer, driver, cleaner, Washerman, masseur, prayer partner and script adviser. ” There was a time I gave her a word of knowledge. I had a dream once, I told her and it happened the next day. I fasted and prayed with Aunty Funke and her sister. So for those that have accused me of being a ‘holier than thou’, that is the real me o! Everybody on every set I have gone, including Jenifa’s diary knows that I am unapologetically sold out to Jesus”, she narrated.
What is the cause of the quarell?
Juliana in the aforementioned blog post did not reveal the cause of the rift between her and jenifa. After proper research especially from other media interviews with jenifa, and JJC (jenifa’s husband), Its clear that they have all chosen to avoid publicizing the cause of the issue. We @d’inspirer don’t publish heresay. So let’s leave their privacy to them without adding salt and pepper. We sincerely hope you understand.
THE FIRST DAY I WAS NUDE ON SET. A little bit of this and that about Juliana Olayode aka Toyo baby.
“The first day I was nude on set was the day I had my bath ( behind closed doors) on a location. Yes! Nothing more. Sorry if I burst your bubble but let me tell you a few personal things. I have been accused of not been ‘professional’. I was told an actress should be able to act ‘any role’ given to her. It is the character doing what she is asked to do not the actress in real life. And my question has always been; When I am done acting that role, will I be given a different body? Many people like me not because they know me personally but because, they like the Toyo baby character”, she went on and on in an article published on her blog on the 23rd of June , 2017 titled THE FIRST DAY I WAS NUDE ON SET.
Well dear huggable reader, this article has been a narrative from Juliana about her life and her relationship with Funke Akindele following the aforementioned posts on her blog. As for me, I love Funke Akindele for her hardwork and consistency in the production of the jenifa’s diary series. She’s a strong woman. I equally love Toyo baby in the person of Juliana Olayode. She represents what I call a “decent brand”. Tell us what you think in the comment section below and equally share this post with your friends.
